Annie Mac will be in Dublin. They will appear at Weston Airport on October 28th.
Annie MacManus was born on 18th July 1978 and is an Irish DJ and television presenter who is more popularly known as Annie Mac. Over the years she has become known as the eponymous host of the dance electronic music show, simply titled Annie Mac, which is hosted on BBC Radio 1 across the UK. This particular show airs on Friday evenings from 7pm but she currently hosts the 7-9pm slot Monday- Thursdays which was previously hosted by Zane Lowe.
Annie’s first Radio 1 show was broadcast back on 29th July 2004 even though she was already a producer at Radio 1 prior to this have already lent her voice to jingles on the station from earlier that same year.
At Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Dundee in May 2006 Annie performed her first ever live set which was part of the Essential Mix broadcast live from the event. She remarked live on air at the time at it was the first time the radio station had trusted her to do a live mix. Since this performance she now regularly DJ’s at clubs such as Fabric in London, Digital in Brighton and various University campuses.
Annie has huge success as a live DJ with her being in demand for superclubs and festivals after numerous artists such as Disclosure, Sam Smith and Jessie Ware credit her with being their first break. Annie has now released her ‘Annie Mac Presents 2015’ compilation album which features some of her favourite tracks from the past year and that isn’t all the album is going on the road. The Annie Mac Presents tour is going nationwide with two headline shows taking place at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.
Her main show, simply called Annie Mac, is hosted from 7pm-10pm on Friday night’s which is synonymous of the type of dance music that she plays. Previously she hosted the BBC Switch with Nick Grimshaw which ran on Sunday evening’s between 7pm and 10pm until 21st March 2010. After this the show was moved to the 10pm- midnight slot and was simply renamed Nick Grimshaw and Annie Mac. On the legendary radio station she is one of only two presenters who present shows both in a specialist area (dance and electronic for Annie) and an entertainment sector. The other DJ to do this being Huw Stephens.
